What is the kiss goodnight show at the magic kingdom and how do you see it?

Hi Tracy! I remember years ago seeing mentions of the "Kiss Goodnight" on Disney message boards and being baffled as to what it was. Since my family tends to arrive at the Magic Kingdom in time for rope drop in the morning, we're rarely still in the park after closing to see this brief farewell music and  light display at Cinderella's Castle. Approximately 30 minutes or so after the Magic Kingdom closes, you'll hear an announcement thanking you for visiting the park each day and wishing you a safe trip home. Music plays, the Castle twinkles and changes colors, and even Mickey says "See ya real soon!" Just like the park's Opening Ceremony, the Kiss Goodnight is a bit of magic that will bring a tear to every sentimental Disney fan's eyes. The next time you're in the Magic Kingdom at closing, instead of immediately exiting the park with the masses, browse the shops and linger a little while if you want a Kiss Goodnight.
