Hi Kiki, We are longtime DisneyWorld fans, but this will be our first visit to Disneyland. We only have one day - Thanksgiving day! What are your recommendations for attractions. We plan to arrive at Park opening - how should we structure our day?

Beth, I’m so excited to hEAR you’ll be visiting the Happiest Place on Earth for the first time on Thanksgiving Day. As a seasoned Walt Disney World Resort visitor, I’m sure you’re aware that Disneyland Resort is absolutely doable in a day! From my own experience, the most effective way to enjoy both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park is to start the day right when they open.

Thanksgiving Day is a very busy day at the Disneyland Resort. Historically, Disneyland Park had temporarily closed when it has reached maximum capacity. For this reason, I suggest starting your day at Disneyland Park and enjoying as many attractions as you can there. A must-do is Haunted Mansion Holiday, as Jack Skellington takes over the classic attraction and adds a touch of whimsicality. Another favorite of mine is Indiana Jones Adventure, as it is unique to Disneyland Park.

Later, head over to Disney California Adventure Park and enjoy Cars Land, particularly Radiator Springs Racers. If your children are over 7 years of age, be sure to take advantage of the single rider queue.
For dining, check out Disney Parks Blog as it has helpful information regarding all the delightful seasonal treats for you to enjoy at the New Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure Park.
Mom's Tip: Just a heads up, Disney Magical Express is unavailable at the Disneyland Resort. If you're arriving to LAX or John Wayne Airport, the Disneyland Resort Express can take Guests (for a fee) to Anaheim-area hotels and the Disneyland Resort hotels.

I hope this information is helpful for you, Beth. Please visit us on the Panel again if you have further questions.

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

I am a wife and mother to 2 children, a 14 year old daughter and 9 year old son. I have always enjoyed going to Disneyland Resort as a child and now that I am a mother, I love watching my children experience Disneyland Resort through their eyes. It is a true delight seeing my daughter wear a ball gown walking side by side with Cinderella or my son jumping gleefully after he defeated Darth Maul in a light saber duel! Learn More About Kiki
