A Ride in the Teacups

    Will from CA Asked

We have 6 kids, our youngest 2 have down syndrome and are both on the autism spectrum. We are heading to Disneyland the second week of September and we have the 3 day pass. What should we know/plan for?

Hi, Will! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. The first thing you should plan for is all the joy you are going to bring to your whole family! So many happy memories await!

Plan on getting to the parks as early as you can each day. Crowds are typically low and you will find that you can see and do so much in the early hours. With your three-day ticket, you are entitled to one Magic Morning at Disneyland Park on either a Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday. This extra hour will be invaluable, so make sure to take advantage! If you are staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, then you have access to Extra Magic Hour every day of your trip.

Next, download and familiarize yourself with the Disneyland app. It is the best tool to help you navigate the parks efficiently. It will tell you current attraction wait times, FASTPASS return times, where and when to meet characters, and so much more.

Speaking of FASTPASS, this is included in the price of your ticket and can really help decrease wait times for certain attractions. If your children are tall enough for the thrill rides, then perhaps investing in Disney MaxPass would be right for your family. This allows you to select FASTPASSES on your mobile device from anywhere in the parks for $10 per day, per person (prices subject to change). Finally, if you find that your children aren't tolerating waiting in traditional queues, you can ask Guest Relations about Disability Access Service. This service provides a virtual wait so you can enjoy other parts of the parks and then return to ride an attraction at a later time.

I hope this helps! Please stop by again with any other questions you may have!
