Do the kids registering for the Jedi training academy have to be present when we sign up? My kids aren't early birds and the day we were planning to go to DHS has EMH at 8AM, ouch! I will never get them there at that time, but I could sneak over early!

    Hi Katie,

A wise mother you are. Good to clarify, it is.

This is the part where I have the unfortunate task of telling you that yes, your young Padawans will need to be present when signing up for Jedi Training Academy. In fact, a Cast Member will address each child directly to make sure they understand what they are doing and how the process works.

If Jedi Training Academy is something that is high on your vacation priority list, I do recommend making the effort to arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios a few minutes before the park opens. Then, make your way directly to ABC Sound Studio so you can get them signed up.

My son was finally old enough to participate last year and I can tell you, it was one of the highlights of our entire vacation! Many times, there is even a dedicated PhotoPass Photographer who gets incredible photos of the experience, which can be purchased or added to your Memory Maker if you have one.

Some other added bonuses of arriving to the parks early are lighter crowds and slightly cooler weather. I hope you'll give it a shot!

Thanks so much for your question, Katie. May the Force be with you!
