How well do kids need to be able to swim to go on the slides at Typhoon Lagoon?

    Hi Matthew,

Typhoon Lagoon is so much fun! In order to be able to use the slides at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, kids need to be able to swim from the end of the slide to the steps at the edge of the pools at the bottom. Parents can not wait to catch their child at the end, as the lifeguard will tell you that you need to exit immediately for safety reasons. There are swim vests for rent at the water park. Your kids can wear these on the slides if it would make you / them feel more secure. Some of the slides have exit speeds that are quite fast. You end up under water, flipping momentarily sometimes. The pools aren't super deep, but depending on how tall your kids are they may or may not be able to stand as soon as they finish the slide.

I hope this helps and that you have a wonderful vacation,
