My kids keep asking us to come back to Disney, and we've agreed to bring them again for the 4th time. We've been in all the summer months but what about Christmas time. Is that a good ideas with preteens and Christmas?

    Hi Nicole,

I have an 11-year-old daughter who, like your children, has been to Walt Disney World many times. I would say that yes, your plan to bring your children to Walt Disney World for the winter holidays is a good one! You have been many times in the summer, so you are probably used to high heat at Walt Disney World. December in Florida will be cooler, so prepare with warmer clothes.

The time right around Christmas is a very busy season at Walt Disney World. With your children being a bit older, they should be able to understand the crowds and navigate them better than small children. I recommend taking advantage of Disney's FastPass+ service. Attractions can have very long lines at this time of year, and utilizing Disney FastPass+ service will allow you to experience some attractions with reduced wait times.

Since you have never been to Walt Disney World resort at Christmas, there will be new things for your children to see and experience. The whole resort is positively beautiful, from a giant gingerbread house display in the lobby of Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to Main Street U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom gorgeously decorated for the holiday. At Christmas, Epcot hosts both holiday storytellers from around the world as well as the Candlelight Processional, a lovely retelling of the Christmas story with a choir and celebrity narrators. Finally, do not miss Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, a nighttime celebration at Magic Kingdom with seasonal entertainment and treats. My daughter and I were able to go to this party together this year and had a wonderful time!

Please do let us know if you have any further questions, Nicole!
