Can kids go in to Jock’s Hangar Bar in Disney Springs?

    Hi Amy,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Pilot Jock Lindsey may have had only a few seconds of fame in Raiders of the Lost Ark, but his escapades yield a really cool story for Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar in the Landing area of Disney Springs.

The interior is decorated with memorabilia from Jock's exploits, including a table in the corner inside an ancient diving bell. The theme continues to the waterfront outdoor seating on the patio and in a dry-docked boat, where you have views of the Amphicars. And the food and libations (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) all take their names from Jock Lindsey's adventures. Nosh on Snakebite Sliders or Air Pirate's Pretzels. Sip an Antidote, Cool-Headed Monkey or Reggie's Revenge.

Despite the word "bar" in the name, I think you will find the atmosphere is much like any other fast casual restaurant. You are going to find lots of kids there, especially in the afternoon and early evening.

My family has been going to Jock's since it opened, and it's where we regularly meet other families to hang out at Disney Springs. I just came across a picture of our family with another Disney Parks Moms Panel family (with our kids who ranged in age from elementary school to college), sitting in the diving bell booth at Jock's, all smiling and munching on snacks.

In reality, almost all Walt Disney World bars and lounges are appropriate for children. Over the years, we've often found that resort lounges such as Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge and Crew's Cup at the Yacht Club are excellent places to relax with a few light bites, libations for the parents and exotic lemonades for the kids. It is not unusual to see a little one napping in a stroller next to her parents in a quiet Disney lounge.

I hope that helps, Amy. Please let us know if you have any other questions as you plan your family's Walt Disney World vacation. Enjoy!
