My kids 19 and 20 don't want us to make reservations for dinner and miss time on the rides. Since we want to use the extended night hours at each park, what is the best way to get a table service dinner in and not give up ride time? At Disney Jan. 3-10

Jonathan, this is a very good question.

When I book Table-Service reservations, I try to stick with those that I know are in the parks we'll be visiting each day. Want to check out the new Test Track?  Book a dinner at Teppan Edo or The Coral Reef. The hour we spend sitting down, NOT waiting in a line or standing is always so refreshing. These meals allow us to truly take an hour off and just relax and reconnect. Think of it as forced recharging of your batteries. I always book a TS reservation at a restaurant either IN the Extra Magic Hour park or in a resort nearby, thus allowing us more ride time. :-)

If, however, this isn't your thing, you could consider heading to resort restaurants which may not tend to book up too quickly for your meals. The dicey part is getting to the restaurant that has the opening, rather than the one that does not. At Magic Kingdom? Check out the many restaurants that are located in the resorts along the monorail line. At Animal Kingdom? Check out the restaurants at Animal Kingdom Lodge (especially Sanaa, at Kidani Village. YUM!) Epcot? Lots of restaurant choices just down the way if you exit in the World Showcase, at International Gateway. The entire BoardWalk is yours...restaurants and all.

Let me know which park you'll be in each day, Jonathan, and I'll give you some suggestions for restaurants which may be able to accommodate a more flexible schedule. I love to help!
