I have 3 kids, a daughter -10 1/2, and 2 boys - 6 and 4.We plan to come to Disney in Nov, and have 6 full days (ideally would like 2 rest days). How should we plan our time? Is a park hopper smart for us? we would like to be at MK for 2 days. THX!! :)

    Hi Laura,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We have reason to celebrate - you are planning a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort! Your children are such great ages for this visit!

We have used the Park Hopper Option in the past but typically do not spend the money. Since we fly, we never have a car and we feel like we waste valuable ride time trying to get from one park to another during the day. Plus, we like to hit the parks early in the morning and leave by mid-afternoon to relax at the resort.

Our girls just turned 11-years old. Here is what we normally do.

    • Do a pre-park opening breakfast reservation so we can enter the parks before the crowds arrive. On our last visit, at Magic Kingdom, we were able to finish breakfast before 9:00 a.m. (official park opening) and ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train before the crowds rushed in!
    • Book our Fast Pass+ selections back to back in the morning.
    • Do lunch in the park.
    • At Disney's Hollywood Studios, we make time for Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. We do a pre-park opening dining reservation at Hollywood & Vine so that we can reserve our spot for Jedi Training before the park officially opens.
    • By 3:00 p.m. we are back at the resort and in the pool. We then do dinner somewhere between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
    • We always dine at the resort a few days.
    • Return to Magic Kingdom one night to watch the Happily Ever After fireworks. Have one adult save your viewing spot at least an hour and a half prior to the show. While that person waits, have someone else take the kids to ride a ride. Just be sure they head back to the viewing area 45 minutes prior. The crowds get crazy and areas get blocked.

Laura, I hope this gives you some ideas!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
