My kids and I have our 1st cruise book for Jan. 2016 on the Dream. My question is do I wait to book the shore excursions once we get on board or should I pre-book them before we leave. We can't wait to set sail!

You'll be setting sail soon, Ben!

Your whole household must be excited... it's almost your final countdown. It will be a pretty action packed few weeks for you - with the holidays already here, the new year, and then your January vacation! You are kicking off 2016 with a huge bang. How exciting!

I would highly suggest that you book your shore excursions now. There are limited spaces on each port adventure and you can't always guarantee that you can get on the excursion that you like if you book late. With your stateroom reservation number and your birth date, you can log-in online to finalize your cruise details on the My Cruise Activities site. You can check out the different Port Adventures offered and also view the costs and age restrictions, if any. Once you are in the online system, all available port adventures and onboard activities will be highlighted and the system will allow you to choose it, if it is still available. You'll notice some choices might be grayed out and you can't choose them anymore. Those would be the items that are no longer available or fully booked.

Just in case you don't get to book activities online, just make sure you stop by the Guest Services desk or the Port Adventures desk when you are onboard. They'll be able to confirm availability and even recommend alternate choices for you and your family.

I hope this information helps, Ben. Let us know if you have any other questions that we can help answer as you plan for your upcoming vacation.

    Have a great day!
