My 2 kids are 13 and 5. We are considering renting a wheelchair for my 2 kids to share so that they will both last the whole day. I was just wondering, does this seem like a good idea? We are going to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom.

Hi Terra! You did not mention if one of your children is handicapped in any way but I will assume you are looking for something that can fit two children.  Wheelchairs can be rented in the parks but they are strictly for guests who have handicaps. They are for only one person and lap children are not allowed at any time. There are a limited amount at the parks for rental and they cannot go to families who just wanted an extra ride.

Strollers can be rented and that is the way you should go. They have double strollers which will fit two children but not sure about a 13 year old. I suggest you enjoy the parks on foot and take your time and enjoy all that is around to see. Take rest stops and refresh with something to drink and snacks. Don't be in a hurry as so many guests are and then they miss some of the entertainment and magic around them. Pick locations for lunch where you can sit down and I suggest table service where you can really relax and be served. Stop for the parades in the Magic Kingdom or the animal expert talks in the Animal Kingdom. Definitely take the train to Rafiki's Planet Watch in that park where you might even be able to see a vet procedure and where you can touch and feel exotic animals or brush some of their resident sheep.

My grandchildren stop using strollers around 4 years of age due to the fact they are jumping in and out to see all that is around them anyway. Just relax and enjoy and take your time and your children will do fine. Rest when they need to rest and stay refreshed with water and snacks. Consider a stroller but let's leave the wheelchairs for the purpose they were made for and that is the guest who is handicapped. Have a magical vacation!
