I have 3 kids, ages boy age 6, girl age 4, girl age 1. We're considering booking a trip to Disney in August 2012. Looking at the value and moderate resorts --- which would be the best options?

    Hi Alison,

The value resorts are all great.  They are bright, fun and colorful with larger than life icons that kids (and adults) love.  Having said that, the rooms are small.  I'm assuming that your one year old can sleep in a Pack and Play.  So you could get by in a standard room at one of these resorts, but nap time might be tricky.  You will be basically on top of one another.

If you can swing it, I recommend staying in a family suite at one of the value resorts.  There are several at the new Art of Animation Resort as well as some at Pop Music.  These offer much more space for a family of 5.

Moderate resort rooms are another great option, and are less expensive than a suite.  I really like Port Orleans.  It's a large resort with a cozy feel.  The pool area is fun, the rooms have been recently remodeled, and there are some great dining selections.  It also has boat access to Downtown Disney, which is nice.  There are also some rooms that have a Murphy bed, so your two older children wouldn't have to share a bed.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
