Hi. We are 2A and 3 kids aged 15, 13 and 9 coming from Australia in Sept 2012 and are wanting to make the most of our time at WDW and going to different areas for dinner. Are we better to stay at POR, the cabins at FW or is there a better option? Thanks

I've had the pleasure of staying in both of the resorts you mention, Viv, and I can tell you that both are lovely.  I truly think you'll be happy with either of the two.  Given that you want to visit various resorts for dinner, I suppose that the cabins might have a slight advantage because Fort Wilderness does offer a boat launch that would ease transportation to a couple other resorts.  Other than that, I don't think one is necessarily better than the other for minimizing travel time throughout the resorts.  A stay at one of the monorail resorts, though, would offer significant convenience when it comes to travel between resorts for meals.  Those accommodations would come with a cost premium, but depending upon your budget and where you're looking to dine, that might be worth looking into.  The three monorail resorts are: The Polynesian, The Grand Floridian, and The Contemporary.  Rest assured, though, that travel between resorts for meals can be accomplished, even if you choose a moderate resort like Fort Wilderness cabins.  I hope that gives you some food for thought.  Enjoy your trip!
