We would like to take the Keys of the Kingdom tour. Do they use elevators during the tour or is it all steps? Also, is the 7 hours worth it? What do you get to see?

    Hi Kimerly,

A couple of my Disney Parks Moms Panel friends and I just did the Keys to the Kingdom tour last month, and we had a great time. The tour is five hours, including lunch, and takes you behind the scenes at Magic Kingdom and gives you lots of Walt Disney World history.

I'm sure tours can vary, but ours including a walking tour of Main Street, inside looks at a couple of attractions (ours were the Haunted Mansion and the Jungle Cruise), a tour of the backstage area to see the parade float area and the inner workings of Splash Mountain and -- the best part -- a visit to the "Utilidoor" tunnels below the Magic Kingdom.

Even though there were ample bathroom breaks and a 30-minute respite for lunch, there was considerable walking involved and a number of stairs. We did not use any elevators. I thought the tour was well worth the money and time.

If you want even more inside information, you might consider the Backstage Magic tour, which is 7 hours long and goes to all four theme parks and other behind-the-scenes areas. I haven't done that one yet, but it's next on my list.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Please let us know if we can help in any other way. Enjoy your visit!
