What is on the Key to the World Card and what do you do if you lose it?

Your Key to the World Card is a glorified room key that is encoded with all sorts of information.  It contains your ticketing information so you'll present it at the park turnstiles to gain entry.  Depending upon your preference at check-in, you can also set it up for charging privileges.  That way, you can charge your meals or other purchases to your room and just pay one bill when your vacation comes to an end.  Also, if you are on a dining plan, your server will deduct dining credits from your Key to the World card.  You won't even need to keep track of how many credits you have remaining; all of that information will be contained in your card.  You will want to check the totals that are printed on your receipts at the end of your meals though, to make sure everything was charged correctly.

If you lose it (like my husband recently did during our last trip) talk to the concierge at your resort.  They should be able to deactivate the lost one and issue you a new one.  When we realized my husband's was missing we weren't at our "home" resort.  We approached the concierge at the Polynesian (where we were dining).  They called the front desk at Port Orleans Riverside (our "home") and had it taken care of within minutes.  It was a huge relief that enabled us to relax and enjoy our  meal at 'Ohana.
