    Lisa Asked

Hi Kay. I see from previous posts that you camp at FW a lot. We would like to do that also. What are the differences between preferred, premium and regular spots? We have a 5th wheel and a truck... Can we leave our truck in the campsite? Or must park it?

Hi Lisa! So happy to answer Fort Wilderness questions as we have made it our new home away from home here at Disney!  In fact I am here right now so if you have any further questions beyond the two you asked please let me know!

There are four categories of campsites here: Premium, preferred, full hook-up, and partial.
The premium sites are considered big rig friendly that can accommodate those up to 45 feet with multiple slide outs. This does not mean other campers can't use but you do pay for the largest sites that you might not need. They are about 24 ft wide and up to 60 ft long on full concrete pads. They include water, power, sewer, cable, access to high speed internet, and upgraded picnic tables and grills.

Preferred sites are those that are located near the Settlement Trading Post, Pioneer Hall, Meadows and the marina area. They include water, power, sewer, cable, and internet access. These campsites vary in size but generally can accommodate vehicles up to 10'x60'.

Full Hook-ups now have cable and internet but will remain titled this as they are located in the back area away from many of the amenities. However, guests often enjoy these four loops, 1600, 1700, 1800, and 1900 as they are quiet and full of trees and very peaceful.

Partial hook-ups will not allow rvs but only tents.

If you have a pet there are 11 loops that will accept them. You can most definitely park your fifth wheel as well as your truck on your site. If you have a large fifth wheel and a large truck you can check the above info but suggest the premium for the biggest pads. The preferred will also work usually and even the full loops will accept large ones but the pads are half sand. You will LOVE camping here and will become a repeater quickly!
