Hi Kara, I'm about to book our first family Disney vacation. Our kids are 6 and turning 5. We plan on going April 4th-8th. We think we've decided on Grand Floridian. I'm looking for every bit of advice.

Hello neighbor!  I'm limited on space, so I'll try to get you started.  First, have you ordered the free DVD and maps to help with planning?  It will be close to get them before your trip, but I'd still try.  I'd also jot down the schedule of the park hours and extra magic hours to start and make some dining reservations.   www.allearsnet.com has a great collection of the menus of the restaurants so you could look at the choices and prices and then start to match restaurants to the days you will be in certain parks.  Advanced dining reservations can be made at 1-407-WDW-DINE.  Have you arranged transportation from the airport?  WDW does provide free transportation through the Magical Express at 1-407-W-DISNEY.  Now with the planning details done, you can start to think about all that WDW has to offer by looking through the www.waltdisneyworld.com or by purchasing a Disney travel guide to begin to prioritize with your family the must-sees; this is the fun part because you get to start to build the anticipation of the trip!  With all that done, you will be able to have a plan in place when you arrive, but remember to have flexibility and to relax.  It can be overwhelming to try and do it all, so by prioritizing, you will still know you'll have fun!
