I just joined DVC and have my first trip scheduled in mid August. I want to purchase annual passes for my wife and myself, but I don't want the the passes to start until our trip. Can I make the purchase now with a future start date for the passes?

    Hi Aaron!

Congratulations on becoming Disney Vacation Club Members! How exciting to know you have many years of magical vacations ahead of you. The discount received on Walt Disney World Annual Passes is my favorite discount offered to Members. For my family, purchasing Annual Passes is a great value and has allowed us to enjoy even more vacation days in the theme parks each year.

You can purchase your Walt Disney World Annual Passes whenever you are ready, and link them to My Disney Experience. Since you will be staying on property for your August vacation, you’ll be able to make FastPass+ selections 60 days prior to check-in, so I recommend purchasing your Annual Passes soon. You’ll also be able to customize your Magic Bands once your Annual Passes are linked.

Once you arrive on property, you’ll need to have your Magic Bands activated at a Guest Relations window outside a theme park or at Downtown Disney. Only once you have activated them in person will your one year window begin. Be sure to bring your Disney Vacation Club Membership Card and a Photo ID to activate your Annual Passes.

Please let us know any other vacation or Membership questions you have. We love to help our fellow Members make the most of their Membership. Happy planning Aaron, and let me be one of the first to wish you a very warm, “Welcome Home!”
