Hi Joanne We are boarding the Disney Magic on 22 Jan 2011. Our 8 year old son does not speak very much English and I was wondering if there is any way to make contact with other French speaking families prior to boarding?

Salut Nicolas! How lucky is your son heading on a Disney cruise! When you board, be sure to speak to the cast member and let them know your son's language preference. You'll notice that cast members' name tags show where they are from, so have him seek out people from French speaking countries.

There are so many activities and clubs for kids while on board. Again, speak to the cast members at the Oceaneer Lab and Oceaneer Club, who will help him, as well as keep their eyes open for other French-speaking youth. You'll be surprised at how many people aboard speak french. Although we haven't enjoyed a Disney cruise yet, my daughter always meets kids and cast members who speak French while on a Disney vacation.

    Bon voyage Nicolas!
