Jedi Training, my kids are now 13, we was out there in June of 2017, and was not able to do the jedi training. seems that now the age limit is now 12. is there any way possible they can still take part in this? thanks for any help. that is there dream.

    Hi Cassie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question. The Star Wars attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios are some of our favorite things to do on a Walt Disney World vacation; there is nothing quite like being transported to “a galaxy far, far away.”

You’re right that Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple is for Guests aged 4-12 years old, and they are strict about the age limits. I think the reason is that the littlest younglings are very small on that big stage, and it must be pretty overwhelming for them to be surrounded by so many larger-than-life characters and bigger children. Imagine the “force” of a lightsaber swing of a 4-year-old compared to a 12-year old! I could be completely wrong, but the Cast Members at Walt Disney World are so focused on safety that I think it must be related to that. I do hope you'll talk to a Cast Member while you're there and express that this is your children's dream; it never hurts to ask, and if they can't accommodate you, they will be able to explain and even point them to other experiences they might really love.

Cassie, I have a few ideas for some fun “extras” that might help your 13-year-olds live their dream. Have they built their own lightsabers at Tatooine Traders? Tasted the delicious Darth Vader cupcake at Backlot Express (the peanut butter and chocolate combination is amazing)? If you haven’t seen Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular, that is also a must-see for Star Wars fans. And, of course, they can encounter Kylo Ren, BB-8, and Chewbacca at Star Wars Launch Bay, and while they’re there they can take a look at all the authentic movie props on display. Don’t miss the ominous March of the First Order either!

Wishing you an “out of this world” vacation,
    Robyn
