In Japan when you Pick A Pearl, do you know if they "glue" the settings or do they "drill" the pearl into the setting. Trying to figure out if I should bring our pearls back from last visit to get it done there! Thanks!

    Hello Beth,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I just love this question. Making a trip to the "Pick-A-Pearl" location in the Mitsukoshi Department Store of Epcot's Japan Pavilion is a tradition we do every trip. Since my eldest was little, my kiddos have always loved the excitement of choosing an oyster and feeling the anticipation as we unveil its treasure.  Needless to say, I have watched them set the pears many times and I can tell you, they use a combination of both methods.  For most settings, they will drill a small hole into the pearl to fit it onto the setting and then use a bit of glue to make sure the pearl stays in place.  I have necklaces, rings and earrings from several years ago and have never lost a pearl.

Have a wonderful vacation, Beth, and please let us know if there is anything else we are able to assist you with.

    Magical Wishes,

    Lauren
