Is january a good time to go/? If the weather is poor, what is there to do?

Hi, Michele!  I like going to Walt Disney World in January because there are typically lighter crowds than at other times of the year, and I like to enjoy the parks in the cooler weather - although when I left Orlando this morning, it was 29 degrees, which is MUCH cooler than I would have wanted!  The weather is generally in the upper 60s during much of January, into the low 70s.  Because many families have children going back to school after the holidays, there may be some hesitation to take them out for vacation, so we usually find lines a bit shorter and crowds more manageable.

If you do get caught in cold or wet weather (we actually saw snow flurries in the Orlando area yesterday!), many of the attractions at the theme parks are indoors, and I find I can generally get from one spot to the next under some sort of cover - either by crossing through a souvenir shop or under some trees or overhangs.  If you don't want to head into the theme parks in foul weather, you can always opt for Disney Quest, or take in some excellent shopping in the Downtown Disney Marketplace.  We also like to do some resort gift shop hopping on bad weather days, planning a lunch or an afternoon snack on our travels.

I hope you have a great time whenever you chose to go!
