We are ivisiting late January for my sons birthday. He will be turning 11 years old January 30 th and we want to do something special for that day. We are planning to be visiting Magic Kingdom that day. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

    Hi Neil,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We love celebrating birthdays at the Walt Disney World Resort!

First, I have to make sure that you are planning to make Fast Pass+ selections. You can select up to three attractions prior to your arrival in the parks. If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel and have your resort hotel and theme park tickets linked in My Disney Experience, you can make Fast Pass+ selections 60 days prior to arrival. If you are staying off-site but have theme park tickets, you can make Fast Pass+ selections 30 days prior to arrival. Make those Fast Pass+ selections for attractions your son wants to experience. My girls are about the same age as your son and, at Magic Kingdom, they love Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain and Tomorrowland Speedway.

I also suggest making an advanced dining reservation at a restaurant he might enjoy. Our girls love 'Ohana for dinner, The Crystal Palace for breakfast and Chef Mickey's any time of day. Although some restaurants will provide mini cupcakes or cards signed by the characters, you may want to order one of the Cakes at Walt Disney World Resort. We have also ordered balloons from Disney Floral & Gifts. The expressions on our girls' faces has been priceless!

Neil, if your son likes adventure, you may want to consider one of the experiences that are part of the Enchanting Extras Collection. We are doing Dine with an Animal Specialist on our next visit. No matter what, the most important celebration is being together. Wishing you lots of love and laughter!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
