We're interested in purchasing the Flex Passport. Does the start date begin on the purchase date, the date the first reservation is made, or the first day in the park? Makes a big difference in our family vacation planning.

    Hey Heather!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You’re going to love being a part of the Disneyland Annual Passport family!

My family has the Disney Flex Passport and we are loving the flexibility it provides for us. You’ll have “Good to Go” days and “Reservation Required” days. Making a reservation is easy and you can do it right from your mobile phone on the Disneyland Mobile App. You’ve got a great question as the start date can be a bit different than the other Passport options. The rule of thumb for a start date on the Flex Passport is either when the first reservation is made or when you enter the parks for the first time. You could purchase it today and the start date would not begin until you either made a reservation or scanned into a park. When buying a Flex Passport for the first time, I always recommend buying it at the ticket booths the day you plan to enter the parks. If it’s a “Reservation Required” day and its not open for reservations, the Cast Member can set you up to enter that first day.

There are a lot of benefits that come with being an Annual Passholder. You’ll find exclusive merchandise, discounts and sometimes even exclusive events just for being a Passholder. This month, you can enjoy Soarin’ Over California after the park closes on March 11th, 18th and 25th. Also the Alfresco Tasting Terrace is now open and exclusive for Annual Passholders and their guests. It’s the perfect place to take a break and enjoy small bites and drinks!

Well Heather, I hope you found this information useful. Just remember, even if you buy your Flex Passport ahead of time, the clock doesn’t start ticking until you’ve made a reservation or scanned into the parks on a “Good to Go” day.

Remember, always believe in the magic!
