Hello, we are interested in an early January vacation to Disney. What dates tend to have the lowest crowds? If we go for New Years Eve what are the best things to do to celebrate the new year at Disney? Thanks!

    Hi Erick!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Reading that your family is interested in vacationing at Walt Disney World Resort in early January is music to my Mickey ears! Planning a New Year's Eve trip just adds to the excitement. I'm honored to assist you as you plan for your magical family vacation!

January is one of my favorite months to visit Walt Disney World because the weather is lovely (compared to the arctic Chicago winters) and Walt Disney World Resort is usually less crowded! With that being said, spending New Year's Eve at Disney is very popular because it's so magical. The crowds become less mid-month once the kids go back to school and special events, such as the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, are completed.

In my opinion, the best way to ring in the New Year is to have a delicious dinner with the entire family by making advance dining reservations. Then, conclude the night by watching the New Year's Eve fireworks show at Magic Kingdom Park! I can't think of a more special way to begin 2019. Erick, keep an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for any upcoming announcements regarding events for New Year's Eve around Walt Disney World Resort.
