It is my in-laws 35th anniversary, our daughters first visit, her first hair cut and her 3rd birthday trip. I am wondering, what time the first bus runs to the MK. We are hoping to get there EARLY with HOPES of having a chance to be chosen as 1st Family.

Hi Megan! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so glad to be able to help answer your question!

It sure sounds like your upcoming vacation is going to be full of wonderful celebrations! Having my children’s first haircuts at Harmony Barbershop was truly one of the most magical and fun experiences that our family has ever had. There is something so wonderful about the cast members; they have always been so patient and kind. I always love when they place the “First Haircut” set of Mickey Ears on the kids and then let them see themselves in the mirror. I get excited just thinking about all of it!

Typically the resort transportation from your resort hotel to the theme parks begins approximately one hour before park opening. I have heard that people do tend to arrive at Magic Kingdom Park very early in the hopes of becoming selected as the First Family. If you think you may want to arrive even earlier you could call a cab to take you from your resort hotel to the park, however that will be an added cost.

Make sure that when you arrive at your resort hotel that you tell the cast member assisting you that you’re in laws are celebrating their 35th anniversary and also that it is your daughter’s first trip! They will give you buttons to wear and sometimes cast members and fellow guests will stop to congratulate!

I hope that you have a magical vacation and that you are able to fulfill your dream of being chosen as the First Family! Make sure to just stop and enjoy all of the magic that surrounds you!
