I'm wondering with a 5,10, &15 year old if it would be better to have a structured itinerary for each day or a go with the flow 5 days? It is our first family Disney vacation and we short noticed booked. Leaving in 83 days, reservations possible?

    Hi Amanda,

It's never too late to book a fun and magical Walt Disney World vacation! When I was younger, my parents planned quite a few of our Walt Disney World trips last minute. It just added to the excitement.

For your 5, 10 and 15 year olds, and for you, I would say to go with the flow of your vacation when you visit the Resort. Some of the best memories will come from you and your family just exploring each park for the first time, and finding your favorites, meeting with characters, and having an awesome time together. If you would like a quick game plan, I say book your FastPass+ selections for each day and let that dictate how your days will go. You'll have the structure of reserved times for special attractions, but you're able to do whatever your Disney heart desires until those times. It's the best of both worlds!

Also, while you have 83 sleeps until your arrival, you aren't too late to make Dining reservations. Some very popular restaurants may be booked, but you will still have a long list of delicious places to choose from. If you had your heart set on trying a restaurant but you see that it's booked online, here's a tip: just walk in! My family has done this so many times and most of the time we have luck in getting a table after a bit of a wait. The longest we've ever had to wait was 40 minutes, but of course the time may vary for you.

Amanda, I'm so excited for your family's first trip to Walt Disney World. You are going to have a blast! If I can help you plan any other aspects of your vacation, please feel free to ask me at any time.

    Have a fantastical Disney day!
