Hi I'm wondering about the dinner shows, can't decide between the Hoop Dee Do and the Spirit of Aloha. What are they each like and which might suit us best? We are me, DH, DS7, DS6, DS3and baby. We can only do 1 of them. Thanks

    Hi Jennie!

The dinner shows at Walt Disney World are so much fun and a great way to keep the entertainment going right through dinner!  In my house the phrase, "if momma's not happy, nobody's happy" is the general rule so  when considering which dinner show stick to the rule of thumb, "if the kids's aren't happy, momma's really not going to be happy."  While I love The Spirit of Aloha Dinner show,it isn't the most entertaining for the younger crowds.  The show consists of music, dancing and typical entertainment you would expect to find at a luau, but younger children may become bored during the performances.
Hoop Dee Do Musical Review is my top choice for dinner shows, especially for families traveling with smaller children.  The food is served all you can eat family style and with fried chicken, spare ribs, baked beans and corn on the cob, you just can't go wrong with the food here especially if you have picky eaters. Kids love the fact that everything is served in tin buckets and keep on eye on your napkins it's not just used to wipe the barbecue sauce off your fingers. The show is just plain fun, I don't want to give too much away, but the humor will entertain your 3 year old as well as yourself. These shows can get a little loud so I would make sure to book one of the earlier times so your baby is most awake because there is no sleeping through this one.  Make sure to let the cast members know if you are celebrating a special occasion, they love to let everyone know of your special day!  This is a wildly popular dinner show so I suggest that you make reservations as soon as possible.  Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-DINE. Thank you for visiting The Mom's Panel and let us know if you have anymore questions!
