I'm 5"5' and weigh 312. My family and I are going to be visiting and I'm wondering if I'll have any issues going on rides due to my weight. I'm most concerned about my mid-section and lap bars although if the seat is very narrow that could pose a prob

Hi Donna!  It is always best to head into a vacation knowing as much as possible so you can have the best experience and memories.  The first thing I would like to suggest is to check and see if you can purchase the book, "Passporter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World" by Deb Wills and Debra Martin Koma. This is the best resource around for guests with all sorts of disabilities and they will address size on the various attractions. They will offer you many tips from how to get seat belts closed to the best seats in a vehicle when you have size restrictions. You can read through it and make a list of those you want to experience or those you might choose to avoid. Because there are so many different rides in all four parks it is impossible to do that here.

Remember that each park has a turnstile to enter and if you are not comfortable using one then ask to use the gate they open for strollers.  When dining ask for a chair without arms as that will give you more comfort. When riding in a vehicle with a lap bar try to ride with someone close to your size so you both will be comfortable with the security of the bar. Don't hesitate to ride alone if you feel you would enjoy it more. I think you will find that you can and will enjoy most of the Disney attractions!
