I'm going to WDW 1st week of March with 6yr old & Grandma, staying at Animal Kingdom. I'm looking for dining suggestions and will we need to make reservations?

    Hi Kathy,

Several of the Disney Moms and I will be at Disney the first week of March as well!  Say hi if you see a sea of pink shirts roaming the parks!

Animal Kingdom Lodge is a magnificent resort to call "home" while on your Disney vacation.  Being able to look outside your balcony and see exotic wildlife is incredible.  There are several outstanding dining options right at your resort, including a wonderful, all-you-care-to-eat buffet-style restaurant, Boma, a great signature dining restaurant, Jiko and one of Disney's newest table service restaurants, Sanaa.  I would also suggest including at least one character meal for your six-year-old.  Some of my family's favorites include Chef Mickeys, Donald's Safari Breakfast at Tusker House and The Garden Grille.  Finally, you might want to visit one of the "special experience" restaurants, including 50s Prime Time Cafe, Whispering Canyons Cafe or Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater.  Each has great theming and/or talented Cast Members who will be sure to keep your family laughing while enjoying your meal.

While it takes a bit of pre-planning and time, I would suggest making advanced dining reservations for any table service meals your family wants to have.  Disney's restaurants are very popular, and tend to fill up quickly.  By having a reservation, you can ensure that your family's wait time is limited and that you are able to dine where you most want to .

    Have a great trip!
