Mom and daughter in front of Cinderella Castle

I'm visiting WDW parks soon. My travel party wants to be in the Parks for the full duration of the day. I will have my 8 year old daughter with me and I've had some health issues this year. Can the two of us use the Baby Centers to rest?

Hi, Nancy! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is coming up this week, and I'm sure you're excited! I definitely understand the "rope-drop-to-park-close" philosophy of getting as much time in the Theme Parks as possible, but it can take its toll on Guests who aren't used to such long days.

While the Baby Care Centers at each of the Theme Parks are wonderful for parents and little ones to rest, recharge, feed and change, with an older child you might want to opt for something a little different. One suggestion would be to schedule breaks throughout your days, making sure to enjoy a sit-down meal in an air conditioned restaurant midday, and taking advantage of air conditioned shows with comfortable seating during the hottest parts of the day (like the Hall of Presidents at Magic Kingdom Park or the American Adventure at Epcot, for example).

Should you feel under the weather while at any of the Theme Parks or Water Parks, First Aid centers are located near the front of each Park. Several years ago I overexerted myself and the First Aid center at Disney's Hollywood Studios provided me with a dimly-lit place to lie down and put my feet up. The nurses on staff were fabulous with my daughter while I recovered, too. Familiarize yourself with the First Aid center's location when you arrive so you know where to go if necessary.

Stay hydrated throughout the day, too, Nancy! You can bring your own snacks and beverages (no glass bottles) into the Parks, but complimentary cups of ice water are available throughout the Parks as well.

Hopefully these tips will help you enjoy your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth!
