Hello! I’m visiting the park with my husband and 3 children (all under the age of 7). Therefore we will be 2 adults with 3 kids under 7. Will we be allowed to go on rides (like the Mine Train) all at once? Are there any rides we can’t do?

    Hi Leandra!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We have the exact situation with our littles - three kiddos six and under, so I know a thing or two about navigating the rides! We just rode Seven Dwarves Mine Train on Saturday with all three, and had a blast! Kids seven and under must ride with a partner in the barrel, so the Cast Members put my daughter (who is six) and one of the twins (age four) in the barrel in front of me while my husband and other twin were in the next set of cars behind me. They said that from now on, the only way they want to go on rides is with each other as “partners”!

You would be surprised at how few of the attractions at Walt Disney World Resort have height restrictions. Most of the ones that do are the “thrill” rides that have restraints. A few of the rides (like Slinky Dog Dash or The Barnstormer) will require rider switch, as littles under seven must sit with someone older than 14.

With your family of five, you will often be split into groups of three and two, but that’s a fun way to mix up seat partners! For the first time in years I actually “played” Toy Story Mania! as my daughter decided to ride with her dad and brother as compared to usual with me. It was so.much.fun!!! And if everyone meets the height requirement for Soarin’ Around the World, expect to sit kid-‘rent-kid-‘rent-kid.

All in all, most of our favorite attractions allow us to sit together as a family. Pirates of the Caribbean and Frozen Ever After fit everyone on the same bench. Kilimanjaro Safaris is our top choice each trip, but good luck with the ensuing debate as to who gets the “window” seats!

    Leandra, have a magical visit!
