Hello! I'm trying to plan MK in 1 day w/ sons 5 & 9. Any tips? Also interested in sorcerers of MK or Pirates Treasures of the 7 Seas. Do we have time for one of these? Can you explain how they work? Thank you! I am loving the Mom's Panel!!

Hi, Angie!  My biggest tip for making the most out of a day at the Magic Kingdom is to get there at "rope drop" - right when the park opens.  I find that with my family, we get more done if we tackle the park first thing in the morning than if we wait and go even just an hour or two later.

If you can get there at rope drop, head to the attractions that are on your must-do list.  We tend to start somewhere where there might be more than one attraction we want to do.  For kids this age, you might find Buzz Lightyear is a good jumping off point, and from there you can do Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor, Astro Orbiter, and even Carousel of Progress or the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover.  And from there, you're a quick walk to Fantasyland.

If you have pre-purchased your passes, book your FastPass+ options for just after lunch.  That will give you time to do as much as you can in the morning, but still have plenty to look forward to in the afternoon.  If your little guys are tall enough, consider the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.  My youngest was just tall enough for Splash Mountain when she was five, and it's now her favorite attraction.

Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom and A Pirate's Adventure are both fun ways to add a different dimension to your visit.  You will get a map and some directions, but you basically visit different areas at the park to defeat villains.  Find more information at Pirates Adventure or Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom.

    Have a wonderful time!
