Disneyland Resort Halloween

Hi, I'm trying to plan my kids first trip to Disneyland and I'm trying to find out when the park closes rides to decorate them for Halloween. I don't want to bring them during the holiday season but want to go when most of the rides are open.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Loralee!

I am so glad that you are considering a visit to the Disneyland Resort soon! Halloween Time starts September 15, 2017, and with it, some attractions will close prior to this date to receive spooktacular overlays. While schedules are always subject to change, Space Mountain and Haunted Mansion are currently slated to close in late August and will reopen for the start of Halloween Time. At this time, Radiator Springs Racers and the other attractions in Cars Land appear to have normal operating schedules while this area receives its Haul-o-Ween overlay. Then, usually immediately after Halloween, the parks start to transition to the Holidays which means that "it's a small world" and Jungle Cruise will be closed for a period of time to receive Holiday overlays. Also, keep in mind that Haunted Mansion Holiday continues through the Holiday season as it's the perfect mash-up of Halloween and Christmas. However, even with these few closings, there are still numerous attractions and entertainment offerings available in the parks. You certainly won't be lacking for fun things to do!

Check the attractions page often as your travel dates approach so you can have a clear idea of what attractions will be available during your visit. You can change the date in the upper right corner to see the operating hours of all the attractions for both parks for a particular day. If you scroll further down the page, you will notice a section for attractions closed for refurbishment.

I hope this helps. Happy planning!
