    Hi Angela!
Birthdays are such a special time in anyone's life and to be able to celebrate it at Walt Disney World makes them truly magical! I have several recommendations for making his day/week a wonderful one! First, go to guest relations at any theme park and ask for a "Happy Birthday" button.  They will put your child's name on it, and encourage him to wear it all day.  Cast members and other guest will wish him a Happy Birthday all day.  I would also schedule a special lunch or dinner for him and let your server know that it is his birthday.  The Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom and Garden Grill Restaurant at Epcot are some of my kid's favorites with the bonus that their are characters available for autographs and photos.  I would also look at Disney Floral & Gifts for some amazing birthday surprises.  These will be delivered to your room and displayed in such a unique and beautiful way that you will wish it was your birthday!  At check in to your resort, mention to the Cast Member checking you in that your son will celebrate a birthday on your vacation.  Sometimes they can arrange a special card signed by his favorite character to appear in the room.  Finally, on his special day, make sure you do what he would like to do, and take time to  see the theme park from a six year olds eyes.  The weather at the end of January is usually mild with highs in the low 70's and lows in the upper 40s to 50s.  Make sure you bring a jacket for the evening.  I hope you and your son have the most magical birthday celebration ever!
