Kids on attraction

Hi! I’m traveling with my 4 kids (10-8-8-7). Can I get rider switch with my 10yo in case my 7yo can’t ride? Thank you very much

    Hi Martina,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for your question.

Walt Disney World Resort’s Park Rules state that “Guests under age 14 must be accompanied by a Guest aged 14 or older to enter the park. To board an attraction, children under age 7 must be accompanied by a person age 14 years or older.” The Rider Switch service won’t work for your group because your children are all under 14, and therefore cannot be left unaccompanied while you are on an attraction.

Since all of your children are 7 or older, they can each ride alone if needed (provided they meet the attraction height requirements), and you can sit one car ahead or behind (I like to be behind so I can see them and wave if our ride vehicles turn). There are many ride vehicles in the parks that allow for three people to sit together, especially for younger children, so your group of 5 should be able to ride several attractions in two vehicles. I also encourage you to talk to the Cast Member stationed at the entrance to the ride queue, as he or she will always be able to explain your options.

Martina, I hope that’s helpful. If I didn’t answer your question fully, or you need more information, I hope you’ll send me a question directly so I can help you get all the information you need to make this go smoothly. I know it can be a handful traveling with multiple young children, but your kids are going to make so many amazing memories and have the best time together – it doesn’t get much better than that!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
