    Elizabeth from PA Asked

I'm traveling to Disney World in April 2018 with my family for the first time. I'd like suggestions on must-see/do dining/activities while we are there. My kids will be 7 years old (girl) and 4 years old (boy). Thanks!

    Hi Elizabeth,

Let the celebrating begin! Mickey and Minnie Mouse cannot wait to greet your little ones. Autograph books? Check. Big pen for the characters to use when signing? Check. Royal attire for dining with princesses? Check.

If by chance, you could not check off those must-have items (smile), never fear! You have plenty of time and you will certainly pack what is necessary for your family. Your little ones may have no desire to dine with princesses. They may prefer to join the Jedi recruits at Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. Our girls claimed the Force when they were 7-years old. Although recruits can be as young as 4-years old, I saw one immobilized by Darth Vader at our last training session.

    Other must-do activities:

    • Visit and dine with Disney Princesses at Walt Disney World Resort. We adore Cinderella's Royal Table, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall and Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare.
    • Dine with Mickey Mouse and friends at Chef Mickey's, Winnie the Pooh and friends at The Crystal Palace or Disney Junior Characters at Hollywood & Vine.
    • Review the height requirements for the Attractions your children might want to do.
    • Our girls love Tomorrowland Speedway, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash Mountain, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Soarin', Test Track, Star Tours - The Adventures Continue and Toy Story Mania!
    • You simply must see the Happily Ever After fireworks show.

Elizabeth, I always plan dining reservations and Fast Pass+ selections for each day of our trip. Doing so gives us some structure but leaves room for spontaneity.

Sending pixie dust your way as you begin this magical journey!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
