Im toying with the idea of planning a vacation to Disney to celebrate my daughters 1st birthday, but don't know if its worth it since she is so little. Any suggestions?

    Hi, Bethany!

I took both my kids to Disney when they were babies.   It was so much fun to get pictures of them with the characters and see their little eyes light up with the twinkling lights and bright colors everywhere!  I cherish the memories of them enjoying the magic.  Your daughter is not going to remember this trip, but I know you will!  That first meeting with Mickey Mouse is the best.

Now a reality check!  I loved every minute of it, but you need to be realistic when traveling with little ones. Your days in the parks will be shorter, you need to stay on your little one's schedule, and sometimes it is hard to be back in your room at 7:30 p.m. when you know so much fun is going on all over Walt Disney World!   But, when you see them so cute and sound asleep in a pack and play after a day of magic, you will be glad you kept on a good schedule so they stay rested and happy.   (Believe me, my kids are 12 and 9 now, the time flies and now I cannot keep up with them in the parks!)

Here is how we made our trips to WDW successful with our babies:  We planned ahead with bringing our stroller, had a packed diaper bag to the parks each day, we planned ahead with dining reservations, and took mid-day breaks.   When entering any park, locate the Baby Care Center which is the best for feedings and changings.  Stay on your daughter's schedule with naps and bedtimes, and meal times.

My kids were Disney pros by the time they were toddlers.   While there are some challenges traveling with little ones, I think it is worth it and would do it again!  Take your time, enjoy the magic, and take LOTS of pictures of your birthday princess during her birthday celebration in Walt Disney World!
