Bus at Bus Stop location at resort

I'm thinking if I need to do a car rental or just rely on the bus services to go around to theme parks and dining/shopping. Is the free parking works everywhere or just applies to the hotel I stay? How frequent are the bus services?

    Hi Shirley!

This is a question many guests ask when planning a Walt Disney World vacation.....to rent or not to rent a car!

Parking at all of the theme and water parks and resorts is complimentary to all Disney resort guests. You have the option to upgrade parking to get Preferred Parking if you wish and that would cost you $20 which is the difference between the Regular parking and the Premium Price. Parking at Disney Springs is also complimentary self parking in the garages or lots. Resorts and Disney Springs will offer valet parking for a fee.

I personally find using the Disney Bus Transportation, or boats and monorails, is the easiest and very cost effective for the guests. Buses leave resorts approximately every 15-20 minutes and head to all parks and Disney Springs. The buses will also drop you off closer to the park entrances then when using a car.

If you have a lot of plans at other resorts then this is the time to consider renting a car. Getting resort to resort is a bit more difficult and having a car available makes it easy. However, if you will only be doing this for a couple of times then I suggest you simply use a taxi or uber or perhaps the new Minnie service being offered. The cost would likely be far less then renting a car.

Once you are there and you find you need a car you can easily rent one at the Disney Car Care Center or at the Dolphin Resort.

The decision can be made once you look at the plans for the trip and see how much you will be doing at resorts versus the parks. Then do the math to see if it is worth the cost of a rental over a couple of trips using Taxis or similar options.
