Hello, I'm taking the 4 night Disney Dream cruise next week and just read that there is a "dress up" dinner in the rotation. Can you please tell me what that means. Also, are teens (15/16) allowed to wear dress shorts with a nice shirt

    Hi, Sheryl!

Congratulations on your upcoming cruise aboard the Disney Dream! Having just stepped off the ship a couple of days ago, I can confidently report that she is ready for you and your family to sail! You will be awed and amazed by this stylish and oh-so spectacular ship.

For 4-night cruises, there is an optional dress up night for dinner which may include a cocktail or semi-formal dress for a lady and a dinner jacket for a gentleman.  I wore my little black dress, heels and shiny jewelry with a dressy shawl.  My husband wore khaki pants, a collared golf shirt, his blue sport coat. loafers and a belt. There were a few people a little more dressed up than we were, but the majority were dressed similarly to us.  Most guests used the opportunity to take lots of family photos since there were such fun backdrops everywhere. I was glad that we chose to dress up a little.

For my teens, I require that they go by the adult guidelines for dressing on board.  In fact, I insist that all my sons (even the 7 year-old) wear long pants to dinner each night. I figure that we so rarely get the chance to all be at the same place at the same place wearing nice clothes in a beautiful setting that we need to take advantage of it. I hope that helps you plan.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
