I'm surprising my family (kids 11, 8 & 8) with a cruise on Disney's Wonder. In order to accommodate our family size and stay within our budget, I've reserved two rooms that are across the hall from each other. Can I get a key that will access both ro

Welcome aboard, Vicki! It is always so wonderful to set sail with Disney Cruise Line, but when you surprise your kiddos with a Disney cruise, it'll be even more memorable! I wish I could be there when you reveal the big news! They are going to be so thrilled!

Each guest will receive their own Key To The World card. This serves as a keycard for the stateroom to which that guest is assigned as well as a charge card for onboard purchases and purchases at Castaway Cay, as also as your "ticket" to get on and off the ship in each port. If your family is in two staterooms that do not connect, your Key To The World card will only open the door to that stateroom that you are assigned. I am assuming that your husband then will be in the other stateroom, as there must be an adult with children in each stateroom. His Key To The World card would open that other stateroom, as well as any of the kids' cards that are assigned in the same room.

I chatted with an agent at Disney Cruise Line to see about the possibility of adding access to both staterooms to your Key To The World card. She was not able to find any information on this, and suggested you ask about that possibility at the port or at Guest Services onboard, as normally two Key To The World cards are not issued to the same person.

However, I do want to let you know that Disney Cruise Line offers many connecting staterooms for families like yours, so that you can leave a door open between your two staterooms, allowing Mom and Dad to stay together in one stateroom with the door open connecting to the second stateroom for the kids. You would also then be able to access both staterooms by simply unlocking your own with the Key To The World card and walking through the connecting stateroom door. You might consider switching to a set of these connecting rooms to make it even easier for your family, Vicki.

Have fun as you continue to plan!
