Hi there! I'm staying at Jambo House and know that I'm going to want to take the bus to save money on parking. I've heard the AK resorts are a good 45 minutes from everything else is that true? If I'm having dinner at another resort, is parking free?

Hi there Brittany. You're going to love staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge! Where else in the world can you wake up to a giraffe walking by your window! You'll definitely want to schedule plenty of downtime to enjoy your guest room balcony. My daughter and I have fond memories of painting our toenails while watching HUGE ankole cattle enjoy their breakfast just a few feet away from us. So cool!

I have some great news for you! Parking for Disney resort guests is FREE at all of the theme parks as well as the other onsite resorts and Downtown Disney. So, you can drive for your advanced dining reservation at another hotel location without any worries!

A great unofficial website for determining the travel distances and times from Animal Kingdom Resort to the theme parks can be found at: www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/resorts/resort-distances.htm. While it can take awhile to travel via motor coach to other destinations on property, when I've stayed at Jambo House nothing took longer than about 20 minutes. Perhaps the 45 minute estimation you've heard about included wait time for the next bus to arrive as it can take a little while, especially if you've just missed one.

Thanks so much for visiting us here at the Walt Disney World Moms Panel! Please feel free to send more questions my way prior to your trip!
