Hi, I'm staying at AKL with my hubby & 2 kids (age 2 & 4 mos). I saw transportation is via bus to the parks but we have a fairly cumbersome double stroller. Would it be a better option for us to drive? Would it be better for us to rent a stroller?

    Hi, Michelle!

That's such a tough decision to make, so I'm going to give you a couple of scenarios that may help you decide what is best for your family.

First, I love using Disney transportation because it's just so easy and it's part of the fun. With a big double stroller, you'd have to take the kids out of it and fold it up before getting on the bus, which could be difficult if they are sleeping all comfy. With that being said, we always loved to bring our own stroller from home because our kids were used to it and they were comfortable in it. The strollers that you can rent are hard plastic and you can definitely make them cozy with blankets and what not, but you cannot take the rented strollers out of the Parks. Plus, depending on the time of year you are going, you may not want blankets if it's hot out.

I think that if driving to the Parks is an option for you, that might be best given your kids' ages because then you'll be able to take the stroller all the way out to your car depending on where you park. There is a tram that goes from the Park entrances at Disney's Hollywood Studios, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Epcot out to their respective parking lots and strollers are required to be folded up for the tram ride. From the Magic Kingdom, the parking lot is located at the Transportation & Ticket Center where there is also a tram that goes out to the large parking lots. You do have the option to walk if you prefer to. My thought is that if you're out late, you may want to have the option of leaving the kids in their stroller until you get to your car where you'll be able to put them right into their seats.

I hope this helps with your decision! I've also attached a video from another one of our Moms with some great tips on traveling with little ones. Please come back and see us if we can help with any other questions you may have!

Wishing you Pixie Dusted vacation planning!
