I'm starting now to plan for April 2018. I'm travelling with my daughter (30+) and her daughter 11 (it's a girls only trip). I'm looking for a great hotel, reasonably priced, fun pools & comfortable bed. Any park firework displays?

    Hi Sheryl,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing this question to us!

I am delighted to hear that you are planning a girls' trip. When my girls were 7-years old, we took a trip with my mom, my mom's older sister (my aunt), her daughter (my cousin) and her daughter (who was 10-years old). That trip - pixie dust landed everywhere!

It sounds like the Moderate Resort Hotels might be good for you. My husband and I have enjoyed Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter. Both are beautiful resort hotels with great pool areas and comfortable beds. Since this is a girls' trip, you might enjoy the royal guest rooms at Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside. These wonderfully themed rooms pay homage to Princess Tiana and other Disney princesses. Sounds perfect for your princess entourage!

The main pool at Disney's Port Orleans - French Quarter is Mardi Gras themed with a water slide while the main pool at Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside resembles an old-time fishing hole with a sawmill water slide. Although any Walt Disney World resort hotel is a fabulous home away from home, we love the tranquility of moderate resorts compared to value resorts.

The last time we stayed at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, we did catch a glimpse of the fireworks at Epcot, just barely. I would definitely recommend viewing the fireworks from the park for an optimal view!

Sheryl, if you have not been to the Walt Disney World Resort in the last few years, do stop by Disney Springs. It is fabulous!
