Mom and daughter on Expedition Everest

I'm a single girl in my 30's who has been to WDW on Day trips and a week or two over the years with friends and family. I'm going ALONE. Which hotel would you reccommend for me: lone dinning, safe, things to do when not part of a group?(I don't like clubs)

I'm going on my fourth annual solo trip to WDW next week.

One of the reasons I go to Disney for my alone time is the safety. Disney takes the security of its guests extremely seriously. That being said, I do prefer to stay at the deluxe resorts when traveling on my own. There's something about the door to the room opening into the hotel (vs. the value and moderate hotels in which the room doors open out to the world) that makes me feel safer. If I were traveling alone at a value or moderate hotel, I would ask them to put you in a building that is fairly close to the main lobby area, just so you're doing less walking out by yourself at night.

The restaurants are fairly good about working in a solo diner with either a short-notice reservation, or no reservation at all, so I don't really plan dining in advance when I'm alone. You can read more about my solo dining choices HERE. You can read solo dining tips on the wonderful independent website disneyfoodblog.com. Search there for an article called "WDW Moms Panel: Good Eats When Going Solo at Disney."

I often book recreation and tours on solo trips, particularly backstage tours. This is a great opportunity for adult interaction because most only allow guests over age 16, and several tours include a meal, so you can chat with other guests then. You can also arrange spa treatments or recreation such as horseback riding or a bike ride.

And of course on my solo trips, I have a great time sleeping in, reading, shopping, touring the parks at my own pace, etc. I also never feel lonely because there are so many interesting cast members to talk to when I feel like I need conversation. For example, on one trip a lovely young woman CM at the Japan pavilion at Epcot spent a great deal of time describing a Japanese tea service to me.
