Princess Half Marathon

Hi. I'm running the disney princess half marathon this upcoming weekend. We (me, hubby, 2 yo & 6 yo) are staying at Dolphin. What time will the back (world showcase) Epcot entrance open so that my husband can walk through to the finish line?

Hello, Brandi! Less than a week to go before the big race! I'm already preparing myself for that 3:00 AM wake up call on Sunday morning. The good news is the weather report looks practically perfect in every way!

I think it's wonderful your Prince Charming is bringing the kids to cheer on their favorite princess. When you get to the stretch of highway running between Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and Epcot, there's nothing better than reading those homemade spectator signs- some of them are quite creative and motivating! Make sure your husband signs up for Runner Tracking on the runDisney website or text PHM to 38909. That way he can get a general idea of when you'll be entering Epcot, which will be around mile 12.

The short answer to your question is that the International Gateway entrance to Epcot doesn't open until 9:00 AM. Unless you're in a back corral, however, you may already be finished with the race at that point. I'd recommend having him purchase a Gold ChEAR Squad Package which would give your family reserved grandstand seating at the finish line, private restrooms, and beverages (tickets for this are available online or by calling (407) 939-4786). He'll need to take the complimentary theme park transportation from the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel or he can request a Minnie Van through the Lyft app. Also check the runDisney website for multiple spectator locations along the course including Epcot.

Good luck this weekend and enjoy your run-cation, Brandi! I'll be out on the course with you and 16,000 other princesses on Sunday, so make sure to say hello if you pass by!

Hi, I'm Eean from Pennsylvania!  I may have an unusual name, but my passion for Disney is not unique.  It’s amazing how many people you can find who love talking about, "The Most Magical Place On Earth!"  I'm that mom who always has her ears perked at PTO meetings, in the grocery store aisle, or at middle school basketball games waiting for an opportunity to give someone a planning tip to help make their vacation even more magical.
