I'm really confused about these magic bands, Do you buy them, do you have to book through wdw to get them and what do they do once you have them, not new to disney but we have not been since 2011 and lots have changed, help please moms.

Hello Nicola. Never fear, we will help! It can be overwhelming to keep up with all the new and wonderful things going on at Walt Disney World. Since you haven't been since 2011, I am really excited for you to see all of the new advancements. It will be a completely different experience from your last vacation.

MagicBands are a part of MyMagic+ and help make your Walt Disney World vacation convenient and fun. MagicBands are worn on the wrist and function through RF technology. Instead of having to dig around in your purse for Park Tickets, Fast Passes, or your Resort Hotel room key, you can simply touch your MagicBand to the designated touch point and walk right through. Your MagicBand is the key to your Resort Hotel Room, Park admission, FastPass+ experience, Dining Plan, and you can even pay for your meals and merchandise with charging abilities.

If you are planning to stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, you will receive complimentary MagicBands in the mail if you live in the United States of America. If you do not live in the US, you can pick them up upon check-in at your Resort. If you are staying offsite, you can purchase MagicBands and link it to your My Disney Experience account to experience the the technology.

If you have any more questions please let us know. Have a magical day, Nicola!
