I'm in the process of planning my first solo trip to WDW in Feb '13! I've been several times with family, so I get all of the planning & prep that goes into a WDW trip. My question is - what suggestions/recommendations do you have for a unique solo t

    Hi Lisa,

After decades of years visiting Walt Disney World with my family, I recently went on my first solo trip.  It was so decadent!  I can't wait to return as a solo traveler again.  When traveling solo, you get to determine the entire itinerary based on your whims and desires.  It's a pretty amazing experience.

The planning process for a solo trip, however, is very similar to the one you would follow when planning a trip for a larger group.  I would still book advance dining reservations 180 days before your arrival, particularly for the most popular restaurants.  You might also want to consider booking tours and spa treatments for your stay.  What a fabulous way to spend some alone time!

Grab a free Times Guide as you enter each park and circle the times for each show that you want to see.  Build your day around those performances.  Ask a PhotoPass photographer to capture photos of you at important landmarks around the parks.  You'll want to document your super fun solo trip!

Let us know if you need any additional suggestions for how to enjoy your upcoming vacation.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
