I'm planning our 2 year old's first trip to Disney this Nov. Mapping ADR's and feeling a little overwhelmed. Is there a strategy to this? Will I be able to book my first choice for each day? Worried about Chef Mickey on our Saturday arrival.

    Hi Leah!

Congratulations on your trip to Walt Disney World this November! Planning, mapping and making Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) is my favorite part of planning our upcoming trips! I love all of the dining that Disney has to offer. I have a few tricks up my sleeve to make this easy.

    1. The first step is to plan what parks you will visit on each day. This will drive how you make your Advanced Dining Reservations. I like to plan my days based on the crowd calculator and based on any special events we'd like to attend.

    2. Secondly, make a list of all the restaurants that you want to eat at. For your two year old, Chef Mickey's, Hollywood & Vine and The Crystal Palace are all great choices.

    3.  Create an Excel spreadsheet that lists which part you are going to on each day, then map the restaurants to the parks. Indicate on your spreadsheet if you want a breakfast, lunch or dinner time. Make sure you have all of your preferences laid out prior to making any reservations. You may want to notate backup options as well, just in case you don't get your first choice.

    4. 180 days in advance book your ADRs online or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

    5. I like to note my reservations numbers in my spreadsheet, but with the new MyDisneyExperience app, this step isn't really necessary.

If you plan ahead and map everything out in advance, you will be golden when making your reservations. Also, by making them 180 days in advance and knowing exactly what you want, you are more likely to have luck in booking.

    Magically,
    Stacy
