I'm planning a WDW trip with my sister, niece and nephew, and we'd love to take the Wild Africa Trek, but they don't speak English. Is that a problem? I see that's a safety requirement for Sense of Africa, but I don't see it for WAT.

Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Miriam!

Oh, my goodness. A trip to Walt Disney World with your sister, niece and nephew is sure to be magical. Have so much fun!

My son and I experienced Wild Africa Trek at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park with a few other Disney Parks Moms buddies, and I can honestly say that this tour is one of our very favorite splurges at WDW. Trekking the trails around--and above--habitats is just the start of this spectacular tour, which affords guests the most unique, up-close vantage points from which to view so many animals. After your trek and special safari ride across the savanna, you'll end your tour with a light but delicious gourmet set of snacks.

Professional photographers will capture dozens of photos of your particular trek, including a very special photo of each guest crossing the exciting rope bridge over crocodiles. You'll get an access code to all of these photos at the end of your tour. If you have your own camera that can be attached to your harness vest, be sure to bring it. (I attached my camera's wrist strap to a lanyard, making it easier to take photos while the longer lanyard was attached to my vest.)

I called Walt Disney World on your behalf (407-939-7529), and asked about guests wishing to trek who do not speak English. Guest Services confirmed that if speaking English is not in the policy--and it is not--then your family members may trek as well. Be prepared to translate important information such as when harnessed into high ropes and particulars about each habitat; you'll each be wearing a headset, so you may need to translate messages from your Guides, too.

Have so much fun on your trip, Miriam! Be sure to send us more questions as you plan; we love to help!
